Organic Bread Bar Darlinghurst

Nestled on the corner of Liverpool Street and Boundary Street the transformation of an abandoned corner cafe was strategically planned to encourage the passerbys with curiosity of what is happening inside. A dark blue facade compliments with warm interiors and contribute to the rustic aesthetic of the cafe.

The concept was to leave the space open plan with a concrete benchtop and ceiling mounted shelves dividing the kitchen and the cafe space to encourage a dialogue between the patrons and chefs. The large pizza oven at the rear of the shop further defines the rustic sense of the space, combined with the exposed brick walls.

Circulation within the space was minimised to make the most use out of every corner without making people feel crowded. A large fold up window opens up onto the outside seating area, separated by a timber screen. An additional large sliding window creates a take away counter with a view into the kitchen, with the idea that it will attempt passer byers to also come inside.
